The South Bay Model Shipwrights is a club to learn and share info on shipbuilding techniques using a variety of materials.  You will see member’s ship projects in plastic, wood, paper from commercial kits and scratchbuilt vessels in resin and wood.  Club members have built ships ranging from 3’ to 56” in Over All length.  Members have built vessels from all timeframes in human history.  This includes rafts, Viking Ships, Galleons, Clipper Ships, Japanese and Chinese Sailing ships, Steam Ferry Boats, and modern era combat ships.

We discuss maritime construction, current events, history, and archeology.  Members have attended San Francisco Fleet Week and other Maritime events.

The Club has a variety of Ship Model Kits available from easy starter kits to advanced skill level models.  A collection of Ship Plans are available for scratchbuilding a model or as decorative wall art.
